Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies at any one of the preferred Colleges, which include Exeter, Oriel, Queen’s, and Trinity at the University of Oxford, and Downing, Magdalene, Peterhouse, and Trinity at the University of Cambridge. The Scholarship will be awarded for a period of three years or four years, as appropriate. The Jardine Foundation aims to assist scholars who have the potential to become outstanding citizens with a high commitment to the community. In addition to the scholarships for undergraduate studies, the Foundation also considers a limited number of applications for scholarships for postgraduate studies. Direct application will generally not be accepted. Potential candidates will be recommended through the preferred Colleges at Oxford and Cambridge Universities among those individuals who have been accepted by the Universities. What you need to know about Jardine Scholarship Awards 2022
Application for a study program leading to a second first degree or a study program currently being pursued will not be considered. Applicants who have already been awarded other fully-covered scholarships to study overseas at the time of application will also not be considered.

Jardine Cambridge Graduate Scholarship
The Foundation is working with the Cambridge Trust to offer the Jardine Cambridge Graduate Scholarship. This scholarship is available to Masters and Ph.D. students from the eligible countries listed below. It will be awarded to candidates in any academic subject and will be tenable at four colleges within Cambridge – Downing College, Magdalene College, Peterhouse and Trinity College.

This scholarship is to be taken at selected colleges at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge United Kingdom -UK

The scholarship is available to these nationalities: Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam.
Scholarship Benefits
Each Scholarship awarded will generally be sufficient to cover fees, tuition, the cost of necessary books and equipment, board and lodging (preferably on a living-in basis where this is available at the University), and reasonable living expenses and travel expenses to and from the University at the beginning and at the end of the course in respect of which the Scholarship is awarded. The Scholarship will include :
University tuition fees payable directly to the University;College fees excluding board and lodging payable directly to the College;An annual stipend to be determined by the Trustees on a case by case basis to cover board and lodging and all other incidental expenses (subject to the discretion of the Trustees, the stipend will be payable in four installments); andA standard economy class airfare payable directly to the airline from the place of residence to the United Kingdom or other approved destination at the beginning of the Scholarship and for the return journey to the place of residence on completion of the Scholarship period.In cases of financial hardship, the Trustees may, in their absolute discretion, make arrangements by way of supplemental awards, loans or such other means as they may think fit to assist Jardine Scholars in meeting their essential expenses.
Jardine Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants must normally be within seven years of having completed the secondary school education, at the date of entry to any one of our preferred Colleges, which include Exeter, Oriel, Queen’s and Trinity at the University of Oxford, and Downing, Magdalene, Peterhouse and Trinity at the University of Cambridge, and must:
Have reached an academic standard to qualify for entry to anyone of such Colleges;Be resident in any of the countries or territories in which Jardine Matheson Group has significant business interests, which include the eligible nationalities listed above.For applications from Singapore, male applicants must complete or be exempted from National Service;
Note: Generally, applications will not be accepted from candidates whose parents have not resided in such relevant country or territory for at least seven years prior to the proposed date of entry to University.
Be in a satisfactory state of health; andBe single.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have reached an academic standard to qualify for entry to anyone of such Colleges. Test Requirement: No English Language Requirement: Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.
How to Apply For Jardine Scholarship Award
Method of Application:
All applicants must be submitted together with the following: A personal statement describing the applicant’s objectives, aspirations, plans after graduation and particulars of their extra-curricular activities, including sports, and their level of community involvement;One recent passport-size photograph;A copy of the completed UCAS application form; andCertified copies of GCSE, A/AS Level, and IB transcripts, or of equivalent qualifications subject to the examination system of the relevant country or territory as and when it is available. These include, but not limited to, HKDSE certificates, SPM or STPM certificates, and SKHU certificates. For applicants attending secondary school or the equivalent, applications must include a testimonial signed by the school principal setting out: The applicant’s achieved and/or predicted academic results;Remarks which will assist the Scholarship Committee in its assessment; andAny other relevant information for the application. Jardine Scholarship Awards Interviews
Whilst the preliminary evaluation of each application will be based on the details submitted by applicants in writing, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a first interview in the middle of November 2021, and in some cases a second interview, when they will be screened by a pre-selection committee whose decision will be final. The final selection will require applicants to attend a personal interview in Hong Kong in early January 2022.Applicants who have not been invited for an interview before that date should consider the application unsuccessful.Applicants who cannot attend the final interview in Hong Kong will not be considered.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT JARDINE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The selection committee reviews the applications based on the academic requirements of the undergraduate courses at Oxford or Cambridge. All applicants are advised to check the entry requirements for the courses they are applying from the Oxford or Cambridge web pages. The Scholarships will be tenable for first degree courses in the following preferred Colleges:Oxford University – Exeter, Oriel, The Queen’s, Trinity Yes. Applicants should have already applied through Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) for entry to one of our preferred Colleges at either Oxford or Cambridge Universities. They are required to notify the Secretaries as soon as they receive a firm or conditional offer either through UCAS or from the University. For applicants attending secondary schools or the equivalent, applications must be submitted directly or through the school principal and be supported by a testimonial signed by the school principal. In all other cases, applications must be submitted, together with references, directly or through the principal of the secondary school or the equivalent, which applicants last attended. Screening processes will commence in the middle of November each year. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the preliminary interviews, which will be the first interview, and in some cases a second interview. Preliminary interviews will take place in November or December. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the final interview in late December. Applicants who have not been invited for the final interview by late December should consider their application unsuccessful. Shortlisted candidates from the first or second interviews will be invited to attend a final interview, which will require applicants to attend in person in early January in Hong Kong. Applicants who cannot attend the final interview in Hong Kong will not be considered. The travel and accommodation expenses for the final interview will be borne by the Foundation. The Foundation considers a limited number of applications for scholarships for postgraduate studies. Generally, the Foundation does not accept direct application but only seeks postgraduate candidates through its preferred Colleges at Oxford and Cambridge Universities among those individuals who have been accepted by the Universities. The selection is expected to take place in April/May every year.
