The system includes 39 elementary/primary schools (including a public charter), 17 middle schools (including a public charter), 12 secondary schools, one alternative education centre, one psychological education center, and one multi-purpose education center. The number consists of five school-wide magnet schools, 12 magnet programs, a state-certified MINT program, a Cognia-certified MINT program (AdvancED), and two International Baccalaureate candidate schools. The school district is highly diversified with 90 different ethnicities and countries. Seventy-two (72) different languages are spoken, with Spanish and Vietnamese being the two main languages.

Admission Requirements
More than 12,000 students speak a language other than English and more than 6,000 are counted as English learners. Children living with a parent or legal guardian resident within the Clayton School District can enroll for free in the district’s K12 schools. A family’s residence is defined as their primary, permanent and permanent residence for legal purposes. To enroll a child as a resident student, families must provide at least two (2) documents to prove their address is in the district. Parents of children entering Kindergarten through Grade 12 must complete the linked Clayton Enrollment Form for their children and return the documents to the Clayton Administration Building School District at No 2 Mark Twain Circle, Clayton, MO 63105. You must bring an original birth certificate and vaccination cards for full enrollment. A child is eligible if he or she turns five (5) years old before August 1st of the school year beginning in this calendar year. Parents of children entering the District’s early childhood program at the Family Center will follow a separate enrollment process. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, Clayton county schools are not conducting walk-in registration for K12 students at this time.

Regardless of the documents that may be available, simply owning or renting property within District boundaries does not establish residency; the primary criterion is the location of the family’s actual domicile. The District may request additional proof or to employ other means to verify residency. Under Missouri law, misrepresenting residency is a misdemeanour. If a family’s residency status changes or is found to be inaccurately represented, the District may act to recover the cost of services provided. Additional Forms: If you are a current resident and have a change of address, you have to complete the Change of Address Form and return it to the School District of Clayton Administration Building located at No 2 Mark Twain Circle, Clayton, MO 63105. Additional ways to access the District’s schools include: Clayton County Public Schools currently offers online registration for new and returning students for each school year. Parents and guardians can begin the process on time before the registration closes. The following documents will be needed to complete online registration: ♦ Proof of age ♦ Georgia immunization form 3231 ♦ Georgia eye, ear, dental and BMI Form 330 (must be completed with 12 months before enrollment in a Georgia school) ♦ Student’s Social Security card or waiver ♦ Parent/legal guardian’s photo ID ♦ Custody/guardianship papers signed by a judge, if applicable ♦ Last report card showing promotion, if applicable ♦ Discipline history for middle and high school students ♦ Student’s transcript for all high school students ♦ Proof of residency which includes: ♦ If you rent: Must bring a current lease agreement and a current utility bill or connection receipt. The electricity bill must contain your name and current address and must not be older than 30 days. ♦ If you are the owner: You must bring your current mortgage statement or tax bill and a current follow-up or service receipt with you. Your electricity bill or receipt must contain your current name and address and must not be older than 30 days.
Tuition
In the Clayton County schools, you have to apply for a personal tuition program. There is a form to fill for application for enrollment where you’ll have to indicate all your personal information (Gender, D.O.B., current local address, home school, home district You also need to check the following information if you meet the criteria for priority consideration for placement (all claims will be verified by the District): o Sibling of currently enrolled student o Grandchild of resident(s) of the District o Child whose parent(s)/legal guardian works within the boundaries of the District; location of worksite must be situated within the geographic boundaries of the District.
