The latest QS World University Rankings reveal that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is the best university in the world to study engineering and technology. Considering studying technology and engineering in technology in South Africa? In Africa, Cairo University came out tops for tech and engineering, followed by the University of Cape Town. The institutions ranked in positions 224 and 320, respectively. MIT also took the first spot in the overall world rankings, beating Harvard University and the University of Cambridge. South Africa’s Stellenbosch University ranked 302 overall, while the University of Cape Town ranked 171 overall. The QS rankings rate 891 universities according to six performance indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, staff-student ratio, research citations per paper, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. About the University of Cape Town

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is South Africa’s oldest university and leading institution of learning in cape town in the western cape province of South Africa. Founded in 1919, the university is located 50 miles from Cape Town in South Africa’s Western Cape province.

Stellenbosch University is ranked the third African University according to the QS World University Rankings. The university is a public university in Western Cape Town. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked Stellenbosch University third in Africa. It currently ranks SU among the top 200 worldwide academic institutions in law, politics, and geography. In development studies, theology, agriculture, and forestry, the university are ranked among the top 100 worldwide.
